To apply for your UK studies as an international student, you must submit an application, receive an offer, meet any conditions and secure your UK visa.
If your application is successful, you will receive a conditional or unconditional offer.
A conditional offer means you must meet specific academic or English language requirements to secure your place. An unconditional offer means your place is secured as all conditions have already been met.
You may need to meet specific conditions to secure your place. All conditions will be detailed in your offer letter, and may include:
academic requirements: a certain level of education, completed for a specified amount of time or achieving specific grades. This may include a high school diploma or undergraduate degree
English language requirements: an IELTS certificate or alterative English language test results
self-recorded interviews: a video recording of yourself answering up to 15 questions about your planned studies in the UK. If required as part of your offer, passing your self-recorded interview is compulsory.
All programmes require a certain level of English. Many programmes assess this using a Secure English Language Test such as IELTS.
Some programmes, including iCAS options, accept alternative English language tests. You can also complete English language classes in addition to or as part of your programme.
Newcastle University International Study Centre can accept students any time before their programme begins. It is recommended to accept your place as soon as possible to avoid any delays.
